Cannot be Frozen, 40% Faster Block Rate, 20% Increased Chance of Blocking, Regenerate Mana 15%, +25% to all Resistances, +25% to Magic Find, +50% Extra Gold from Monsters. Awesome shield especially for a spell caster. Rhyme (Shael Eth) 2 socket shield required, level 17. I have both these runes if anyone wants to try it.

+1 to all skill levels, +2 Mana per Kill, Lowers Damage by 7, 30% Lightning Resistance, +10 Energy, +2 Light Radius. Lore: (Ort Sol) 2-socket helm required, level 27. I have used and loved the following rune words: If you put them in in the wrong order, you will get Sol Ort, which will do nothing more than add the two properties of the runes in question. It doesn't matter where you drop them because the computer will put them in in the order in which they are inserted - for example, with Lore (Ort Sol) you must insert Ort first, then Sol. Second, the runes must go into the item in the appropriate order.

If you put the three runes into a four socket item it will not work. There are two important things to note: first, a three-socket rune word must go into a three-socket item. There is a good section on about rune words at. Shael is not that uncommon - I have several - but Um is harder to find. Individual runes I find most helpful are Shael (for IAS - increased attack speed) and Um (for the plusses to all resistences). Most of my good weapons are socketed with a perfect skull - I socket my best uniques to get a little extra kick. The gems I tend to use the most often are Skulls (for the mana/life steal or regeneration), Topazes (in helms for magic find) and Diamonds (in shields for increased resistences). SAVE IT for an awesome weapon or trade it for something good.Īs far as gems go: I have been known to find a multisocket weapon that I haven't wanted to convert into a runeword weapon (see below) and put lots of elemental gems into it to help with Hell physical immune guys.

The one caveat to that is the increased damage jewel - a jewel that will add a certain percentage to your damage, such as +15% damage.

Many times you will find that gems have better powers than jewels. I tend to avoid it myself, though it is rather amusing to have "BeautyFool's Cracked Sash" or some such. Personalization does absolutely nothing useful. What benefits does it give? Also, generally, what Gem/Jewel/Rune enhancements do you veterans find most beneficial? While I'm here, I'd also like to ask a question about the “Personalizing a weapon” reward in Act 5.
